Sports Facilities and Activities

Madhab Choudhury College, Barpeta provides a range of sports and physical activity facilities to encourage students’ active participation in games and athletics. The college has a spacious playground used for outdoor sports such as football, cricket, volleyball, and athletics. Indoor games like badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom are also promoted among students to ensure balanced physical and mental development.

The college regularly organizes sports events, training programmes, and annual College Week/Sports Week to motivate students to participate in different sporting activities. Students who perform well in these events are encouraged to represent the college in various inter-college and university-level tournaments. These initiatives help promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and overall personality development among students.

The sports activities of the college are supervised by the Sports Instructor, Smt. Dharitri Das, who provides training and guidance to students for participation in different competitions. She has represented Assam six times in national volleyball events and once in athletics.

Sports-related activities of the college are managed by a dedicated committee comprising Dr. Prakash Sarma (Principal) – Chairman, Dharitee Teron (Assistant Professor) – Convenor, Dharitri Das – Instructor, Dr. Jaydev Mandal – Member, and Dr. Nur Hussain – Member.
